Holland and Barrett withdraw Shark Cartilage Capsules (Sep 2008)
Holland and Barrett, the UK's largest chain of Health food stores, have now stopped selling shark-cartelage capsules in its 550 stores in the UK. The news are welcomed by the marine conservationists and the 3000 supporters that contacted the US owned business to discontinue the sale of this product. Bite-Back the marine pressure group campaigned for 12 months to achieve this result.
Shark Fin Soup is off the menu at Hakasan Restaurant (Sep 2008)
The only chinese Michelin Star restaurant has decided to stop serving Shark Fin Soup. This is a fantastic end result of Bite-Back's efforts and campaigning to urge retailers and businesses to stop selling shark related products. The restaurant used to sell a bowl shark fin soup for a modest £42.00 in their London establishment.
